Robert Downey Jr has stirred the pot for the troubled new Sherlock Holmes film, saying the super sleuth is to be portrayed in a gay way.
“We’re two men who happen to be room-mates, wrestle a lot and share a bed. It’s badass,” he tells the News of the World nerwspaper in the UK.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s legendary character is famous for donning his deerstalker hat, puffing on a pipe and solving mysteries with his trusted sidekick.
Jude Law. who plays Watson in the new Guy Ritchie film, added: “Guy wanted to make this about the relationship between Watson and Holmes. They’re both mean and complicated.”
Ritchie last week was ordered to re-shoot his "unrealistic" Sherlock Holmes movie.
The 40-year-old director was reportedly left fuming after Warner Brothers chiefs told him several scenes didn't reach their expectations.
Ritchie has been forced to call back cast , including Law and Downey Jr. to remake five weeks worth of footage.
