Jared Harris has been confirmed to play Moriarty in Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes sequel, slated for release next year, reports The Guardian.
Harris, of Mad Men fame, has featured in several films before, but this will be his first significant role outside of television.
The Guardian also reports that Stephen Fry has been cast as Sherlock's brother, Mycroft Holmes.
Brad Pitt, Daniel Day-Lewis, Colin Firth, Gary Oldman, and Russell Crowe had all been connected with the Moriarty role.
